I don't know but it messed up my Dodge 318 wood truck! Was running great. got gas and now won't fire on all cylinders. Know it's the gas! Not just water either! Put a bottle of dry gas into it and half a bottle of Startron. NADA.....always workd in the wifes Tacoma! :dizzy:
Did you take a sample out to see if there is water in it?

Refineries don't do their brief shutdown until Aplil in the US and the Summer blend can be as late as May & June.

I read some time back that the states have 29 (I believe it was) different winter grades alone.
Winter grades are less expensive as most winter grades are largely a Butane base. It has a high Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) which helps the flash point in the cold. (Evaporates very quickly) Its a real **** mix of the 'bottom of the barrel' crude and many other crap. Would create a lot more smog in the heat and can vapor lock

Summer gas cost much more to make as the base is not butane, plus many more additives and has a low RVP
I.7 more energy, that should create better mileage slightly.

They do a refinery shut down again in September.

A guy would be smart to buy & store summer fuel From September to run on these hot spring days?

Google
"The different between summer & winter fuels"...or look into Read vapor pressure (RVP)

Edit
Didn't see link above.

I wouldn't recommend this. The gas would be LONG since degraded by this time. The general recommendation for gas storage is 4-6 weeks in a plastic container that breathes (they all do); 8-12 weeks in a tightly sealed METAL container like an old paint thinner can or moto-mix/tru-fuel can.

Lots of things aren't recommended as well can be illegal, immoral or unhealthy.
As a practice we don't run winter fuel in the summer for air quality reason's as well not good for the engines but there is an overlap time.
How many home owners have mix jugs for weed eaters that they use in the following season? Many may have learned their lesson as to not leave the fuel in the carbs over winter but I don't know anyone personally that throw it away?
Maybe I'm just not that domesticated?
Its not even a matter of picking your poison is it? Sounds like a no brainier?

I store non-E gas up to two years with no issues, but usually no more than one year.
Just for ***** & giggles, kept some for 4 years once and it ran fine.

So what do you do with all the winter gas if you have it ? It acts the same in lawnmowers?
I just ran it out in my old truck
I don't know when they switch to
Summer gas?
I guess it's called that
Neighbor hasn't had anymore issue's
After buying new gas.
I only mix 2 gallons at a time i bought ethanol free it's about .35 cents more per gallon here.
For my saw's and brushcutters.

I am wondering if I should start buying VP in 5 gallon cans for 60.00 this Ethanol crap just destroys everything. Cant get non Ethanol at any station here at all. What octane do you guys think would run best in chain saws?

89 is what I'd want in VP, but 91 E-free is what I can get here. Absolutely no need or want for higher octane.

That's a jag of cash to be forking over for fuel. Maybe if they are your babies and you aren't trying to make or save money by running them.

That's about $3.00 per litre/ $12.00 per gallon. Probably close to 5 times the price you likely pay.
On a large scale that would be a 'healthy' habit.

A good octane? IDK
Everyone runs 89.
When the 262 came out, I bought one for interior tree thinning.
People said you are supposed to run the 92. I ran it for a while.
It actually worked out cheaper. 5 tanks of 92 was exactly the same run time as 8 tanks of 89...believe it or not. That may have just been before they stopped with leaded fuel. Not sure if its like that or not these days?
Shell V-power ethanol free has been available to me but I never supplied fuel and when I did, I wouldn't remember that its available until the last week of the job.
Some companies I have been told to stay away from: Husky fuels/Mohawk gas stations. (methanol base) by two small engine mechanics.
Some gas co say its around 10% ethonol but some likely have more.
I read a few weeks ago that its going up to 15% at the pumps very soon.
You can order a little ethanol tester, if you don't already have one.

I had trouble today with my CS355T, 025 and 362CM. Gas did boil out when I opened the cap. Mind you, they were setting out in the sun.
Yup ours were all out in the sun even my no spill can collapsed inwards. The Mtrons and reg carb saws all vapor locked on us . The climber blamed it on his saw!

Alright Good Buddy........Thanks to a large part to YOU! Been a year since that Lyme Attack! Been flashing back on it some. LW you have No idea how much you helped me thru that! Worse Nightmare of my life. And I've been thru some bad ones! I will always be Eternally Grateful for your Support, Coaching, and Knowledge
Still have some minor symptoms at times mostly manifested thru arthritis like symptoms in my knees. Know it's Lyme because before the Bite last year NEVER had those symptoms. Take some Andrographis Panaculata, Maunalaurin, and these Garlic and Parsely capsules. Dr. Klinghardt figured it out from having it. Spirochette feeds on Fatty Acids! Just feed them the ones that will kill them...... like ALL the Essential Oils! They hide in your Ligament Tissue and lash out to feed like a Moray Eel. Then Wham Die!
Love Yah Brother!! Take Care!!!
