Seem to be a lot of used 044/440s out there also, and like the 046 will respond well to a dual port muff cover and HD-2 filter, and pull a 24" bar very nicely. If you get one that is mechanically good for a reasonable price, they are hard to beat.

Let's not forget that the O.P. isn't asking about which saw to get for a 24" bar, but rather whether or not he can get by with the one he's got with said bar, in occasional/emergent situations. Not everyone needs nor can afford a dedicated powerhead for each bar length, the 361 is a fine saw and should be up to the task.

Well ordered a 24" woodland pro bar and two loops of semi chisel chain. If the powers out and we are hanging i have all day to clear the road.
Also with stihl's great marketing every one in florida is super proud of anything with stihl on it from chainsaws to blowers the used market is over priced.
