Apparently you have to have had a problem with your coil, they wont replace it just because. (I called stihl and they told me this) Seems like its being kept on the down low. Also, dont say that you did any modifications to the saw yourself.

I had the 4700 c coil, no issues at the time. I purchased a 4701a on my own and swapped coils. When I later saw they were exchanging out the 4700c coils, I asked and they took care of it. They didn't once ask if it was causing issues or not.
