A better way of setting it off would be to use igniters for model rockets. That way there's no lighting the fuse and running. You'd just put the igniter in like it was a fuse and unroll the wire to your safe position and push the button on the battery box.

I thought I was the only one that had seen those things.

A highschool buddys Gramps, used those things to bust up stumps. Half the time, the powder wedge would go flying a ways.

Last I knew, Dixie gun works still sold them, as well as the Blackpowder mouse trap reproductions.

With the cost of powder these days, I dunno if they are worth the fuss, if it wasn't for the giggles.
