Houston I think we have a problem you guys are busting my chops and giving me a hard time but the saws only got 120 PSI compression no matter how many times I pull it over it never goes higher I might not know very much but that's kind of low isn't it
I didn't start a bunch of useless threads for no reason the reality is there's nobody out here this is not a wood cutting a community you have homeowners that take their saw down to the local place when they need it fixed that's about it and I'm not from here so I don't really know anybody anyway so when I have a problem I get on here and I get help and usually somebody gives me the answer I need it's a good place to start I'm not saying that the internet has all the answers but it's better than sitting there guessingView attachment 685752
Thats real low. If you did it right rip it apart.

The ring gap on the upper ring was about .018 or .45 mm the lower ring was .016 or .40 mm I decided to open up the brand new feeler gauge set I had cuz I couldn't read the numbers on my old one none of this stuff is new to me I'm an auto mechanic I've got two years at a trade school and I've rebuilt plenty of Motors I've even rebuilt a couple transmissions.
I'm in my comfort zone when I'm tearing things apart and measuring stuff and screwing around

That's acceptable. Although you might pick up a few lbs of compression with new Cabers. Could also delete the base gasket. Measure squish with thin electrical solder. You need around .020" squish clearance. That'll net you maybe another 10lb

Well this website is having major issues it's getting kind of old I was having the same problems on the powerstrokenation website just real laggy and crashing all the time anyway I don't have anything to seal up the base of it at the moment no hondabond or any of that fun junk but I guess I'm just going to finish cleaning the carbon off the top of the piston and button it back up and put it on the Shelf until I get some rings

Might keep trying the seafoam. You gained 10 lbs of compression while using it, right? 120 up to 130? Another few tanks and you might be up to 140, which is probably normal for your elevation
I wonder how much of an effect my elevation would have on compression the Rings are within spec the cylinder does feel a little glazed but I didn't touch it because it's pretty easy to just pull it off whenever I feel like it.

If you didn’t scrub that cylinder you haven’t accomplished what needs to be done, imo. You have a perfect chance to re-break that top end in.

If you manually clean the cylinder, piston, and rings properly (scotchbrite, wd40, soap and water, rinse water) there is no need whatsoever for seafoam.

And then there’s the carb thing...hmmm.

Just thought I’d throw that out there August
