Someone explain??

Can someone explain how a 2-stroke chainsaw engine runs for me. I am not a total dummy to engines I build v-8's and Drag race Im just not to sure about the 2-stroke and the inner workings I do no that air fuel mix comes in and is commpressed then BOOM and the gas exits the exaust and that some of the gasses go under the piston???? i just dont understand it

Most of pro saws are piston ported now.On small saw,we see reed valves on some.
