No saw toys here either, though I did get permission to buy if the right opportunity presents itself! Mainly got a bunch of clothes and a new winter parka.

We're at that in between stage. The 2 girls are in their early 20's and single. The "magic" of Christmas that comes with the younger ones has been gone for a few years. Now we just enjoy the time spent with family and don't go crazy with the commercialism.
I have one that's in college. It won't be long before we're grandpas and starting back at stage 1 :D

so, what was the other? if hes new to saws, let him learn & abuse that... then move up... either way, have a good one...

It was a Poulan 5020. Like I said, he's not mechanically inclined. He's a good hard working guy, and he grew up cutting wood, but when anything breaks, he pays someone else to fix it. Ebay is loaded with Poulan 5020's that are being sold as refurbs that people took back because they either broke, or more likely they just weren't happy with them. The 5020 is probably well worth $200, but better quality saws tend to break less frequently, are easier to get parts for and repair, are more enjoyable to use, hold their value better, and last longer. In 5 years or so, will it be easy to get that 5020 repaired? Maybe...Maybe not. He's getting a proven, borderline pro saw, and it's still in my daughters budget. I realize there is risk to getting any used saw, especially on eBay, but I'm fairly confident and hopeful that this will work out fine, other than he will learn what a nice saw is and not want anything to do with cheap ones anymore. I was his age when I bought my first cheap saw, and when I look back, I could have saved myself a lot of time and frustration if I had known then, what I know now.

At first, I just gave her a couple options and told her that saw would probable be ok, as long as it had some anti-vibe. She decided to have me get a different saw because she didn't want him to think she just made a totally uninformed, impulse buy that he would be stuck with. I only went along with it after she expressed that thought.

What are the chances of two of us getting a standard model Ruger .22? Can't see the sights very well on yours, but the experts tell me that technically the Mk 1 is adjustable sight & the fixed is just called a standard .22. Either way, nice find.

Yep, it’s a standard, fixed sight. So far it seems to be a straight shooter. CCI Stingers, CCI mini mags, and standard velocity Remington all hitting where I’m aiming.

im not very good with the picture posting…hope these aren't too large….but pops hooked me up with this sweet 064 he's had sittin around…tree service smoked it and left it…ill throw it on the shelf till i find parts to fix er up.

Not saws but equally useful in the woods.
The one on the left was from my wife and the one on the right was from my boys.
The left is a Super Blackhawk in .44 mag.
The right is a .45 convertible flat top.
My wife couldn't remember which one I wanted most, so they got both.

Once we started having kids, wifey and I decided to forego gifting between us. Spend the little money we have on the kids. And it's awesome because now I don't have to figure out what to get her and I don't have to pretend to like what she got me.

And it aint about us any more anyway. We live for the kids. Like it or not haha

I can't claim it as a Christmas present, but I finally got to shoot my project gun on Monday. Ruger Blackhawk, 4 5/8", 45 Colt.

I did get this really cool watch though. I found it while shopping for the watch I bought Lisa, and just had to have it:)

The wife bought me a set of Labonville chaps. Something about wanting to keep my legs attached so I can stay gainfully employed.

Gotta love a Bisley. From the height of the front sight, I assume it's in .45 Colt and set up for heavy bullets?

Yup. We often give each other a couple of essential items we would have had to get anyway - like stove gloves or a new barn coat, etc.

Wife and I got each other iPhone 5c's. First time for smart phones for us. Plus we just ordered a pair of La-Z-Boy recliners. First furniture purchase in over 15 years! I guess we're feeling a bit richer this year since our son is finishing college.

My wife took care of me.... some nice kevlar gloves, files, new tool box for my saw stuff (the other had a huge round fall over in it and broke a handle and a latch ) also my rangefinder took a crap and she got me a new Leica 1600B

BOOOYAH
