I'm getting ready to install a new p&c on a Husky L77. I've got the new base gasket, they don't apply sealer at the factory, right? So it's an option?

With a new base gasket I won't use sealant. If it's used i'll put on a thin coat.

Permatex Motoseal its available from any carquest dealer, they may have to order it though. It can be immersed in gasoline forever with no effect, its specifically made for joining cases in 2 stroke engines.

Yes, use the motoseal, I learned the hard way regular RTV like Ultra blue, gray, whatever,
WILL leak after some time if used in a gasoline area.

I also have had great results using CRC K&W copper coat, especially for head gaskets, it is gasoline proof and great adhesion. The 4 oz. can is easy to use, includes a dauber.
