    It's a Pacific Northwest Thing - I'm starting to understand :)

Toppenish eh? Glad to see you made it out with your scalp in tact! That is hardly timber country by any stretch, what on earth were you doing down there?

    Husqvarna 353 Cylinder/Piston into a 350

What you have to decide is if you can recover enough value by parting it out to fund a high enough percentage of a new saw. If there isn't much value in the parted out saw then you may as well GO FOR IT. If the saw is already low value you can gain a lot of experience by throwing the new piston...

    372 kill switch trouble

I have had the wires shake loose on mine a couple different times. I rewired the old switch with some new tiny spade connectors and I sealed it all up with some heat shrink. Has yet to fail me.

    Pacific NW get together

Eastern WA Weather Well looks like spring is still delayed in Eastern WA. Today it snowed in Pullman, well enough to cover the ground for the morning. Hope the weather is better at points west. My girlfriend snapped this picture on the Washington State University Campus today a little before...

My 361 might need a big brother

If you already have a 361 I personally wouldn't waste my time with a 440, 372, or 575, the cc difference is marginal and won't really gain you much more bar capacity. Here in the west the 361 is a max 25" bar and the 440 is about a 32" bar saw. That being said a 660 would be a better upsize...

Troll it is already wearing a Full Wrap Handle bar, Dual Oversize Dogs, 28" Bar etc...I don't think the extra ounce of plastic really matters...:) and the bigger filter is really nice

    372xp Performance Questions

Save your money and don't waste your time on the BB. You have a perfectly good OEM piston and cyl. If you look in this thread : http://arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=65715 there is a picture of a muffler mod I just did. There are many others out there as well. Good Luck!

    Suggested Mods For 365 Special

As far as I know there is only the one and it is made by Baileys. It was done by mounting the cyl. in a lathe and turning about .024" of material off of the mounting surface and the locating ring. From what I have seen if you are looking for performance more gains can be had by modifying...

    Suggested Mods For 365 Special

I have one on the saw now and out of the box they aren't very impressive. The squish is very loose and the chamber is a little large. The newer ones the chamber is much better and so is the chrome plating but they still have the junk piston pin retainers and mediocre casting quality. There was a...

I forgot to mention the addition of the 371/372XP style high top air filter and cover. It is much larger than the stock flat panel that came with most of the 365 saws.

The top end swap is very easy to do. I modified the muffler on mine and it helped quite a bit, not as much as the top end swap that I did the next week but it did help. I added an additional port to the clutch side of the muffler. I wanted a stock type look so I opted not to go for the pipes...

    Pioneer Parts

Does anybody know where I can get a coil for an old Pioneer Farm Saw II? The thing is a peach and I would hate to see it just lay and rot. Thanks!

    Husky 154 - running strange

You said that it would idle find on it's side. Did you notice a change in the idle if it was laid on the other side? If this is the case it could be an indication of a failing crank seal causing an air leak.

    Is this jug any good?

If you go with the BB prepaire yourself for a bit of work. The castings are a little rough and the squish is VERY LOOSE. The chamber isn't too huge but the piston pin retainers are junk. The chome is not too bad though. If you go with the big bore plan on spending some time polishing up the...

    13 year old running a MS660!

I like to laugh at the weight discussions as well. My dad tells stories about logging in North Idaho in the 60's. Grandpa had an old Ford and an old International all bunked up. When he started they were loading with an A frame and a winch on a cat. They could only do short logs cause the...
