    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

The Amish by me cut ice off local small ponds and they only got one thin crop instead of several thick cuttings. They might have to buy bagged ice from convenience stores for their ice boxes. Those with organic egg coops with 4-5000 birds need lots of ice to keep their eggs cool until pickup...

Looks like my scrounging is done for the winter; we got between 20 and 24 inches of snow in the last 3 days and no frost in the ground. I'm glad I'm 3 years ahead. I've been getting into the ash big time having cut and have in the stacks over 100 trees. The ash near me is in the second year of...

The gangsta lean is because they don't know how to adjust the rear view mirror.

When I need to go shopping in the big city, I go to Baraboo. I'm about 35 miles west of you and am also harvesting dead ash. I've processed over 60 trees and have lots more to cut. I get $250 per full cord delivered. And I am familiar with rocks in the woods.

    Few saws I’ve been collecting

I need someone to show me how to get spark and how to fix the recoil starter on these old saws. I have 15+ old saws.

My Wright Saws are brown. Wish I could get them running. Dad had one in the 50's.

In Montana you have to send the tongue of your bear to the DNR to have it tested for trichinosis. I won't eat bear meat and have shot two in Wisconsin. Just the thought gives me the shivers.

Odd question... Where do loggers use the bathroom?

Takes a snooty one to know one!

Odd question... Where do loggers use the bathroom?

Slowp: mind if I correct an error you made? I don't think it is correct to say "Everybody's got one". Shouldn't it be "Everybody has one." ?

You used the right "then" this time Northman, you usually don't. I've been watching.

At the moment I'm high bidder on a 6" Rock Island vice on a local internet auction. I'm guessing the thing weighs 50#. Anyone have an idea on what it might be worth?

Are you sure the JD model L didn't have a 2 cylinder engine?

Madison Wis. got 10" of snow this morning; a record for this date. I'm 75 miles northwest and didn't get a flake.

The Kid needs the crew cab model. Gotta have room for the pups to go along.

Just put your diesel fired generator in the back and keep on trucking.

When the cap is hanging on the string and a whole tank of sticky oil runs all over it as you are sawing, a brush isn't going to do much. Although brushing beforehand makes sense.
