    chainsaw on a stick

It's been awhile since I stopped by here. Long story short, I have an Echo PAS-260 pole saw here with a carb problem, I rebuilt it set the metering lever height and no change  Looked around here and lo and behold there are adjustment screws which I never knew existed. Just wanted to say...

So I'm curious, what do you guys do for a living?

Mechanic for a company that does landscaping, masonry, excavation and tree service. I take care of anything that has an engine and try to eliminate or reduce downtime. And I work alone :msp_sad: kinda boring if you ask me.

What do you do to make starting the splitter easier during cold temperatures?

Try 5-30W Oil it's what is required for snowblowers and mostly any small engine in colder weather. If that fails you have different issue, carb or spark issues.

    Step by step porting

I'll be looking for answers here too as I know nothing about porting with chainsaw engines.

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

Thanks for sharing that! That helps a lot. Do you happen to have part #'s for the carb and what kind of air filter I would have to use?

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

I will consider this when I get the new P&C, I've got the tools to do the job just not all the know how on non-reverse-able mods.

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

Since you say a little carving exactly how much is involved? If it really is a worthwhile upgrade I could be persuaded to do it, got any pics?

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

I've read on here somewhere that the tank would have to be modified for it to fit, I'm not willing to do that. BTW...this is the early version non-pro saw if that helps any.

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

Hmmm...I would if I knew how, I should know how but I don't.

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

Well...that :censored: Guess I'm gonna have to be a bit creative in my quest for more power. A bigger saw is not in the budget right now.

Fried Piston On My 026 anything bigger available?

As the question states, I could go with oem size P&C but I wonder if there is anything bigger that might fit in it's place? I'm probably gonna have to switch out the carb and muffler too if there is something available, any ideas there? And on a non related note, stay with .325 chain or...

Odd colors and custom paint jobs.

Wow this got out of hand in a hurry. In defense of H-D, only the one's before the mid 80's were notorious for leaking. Now to the topic at hand. Logging theme sounds cool too. And I like those racing stripes too...go stihl!

Odd colors and custom paint jobs.

That would be very cool, of course it would have to include the mandatory chrome bit and pieces. And staggered dual chrome pipes. What say AS?

How to hook up throttle on husqvarna rancher 55?

Been awhile since I've worked on one of those. But here is how I think I've done it. Connect the throttle link to the carb with the carb off the saw, insert throttle link into handle and bring carb down to the intake and bolt on. Hope that helps for ya'

    Buck double door stove

I have the same stove, the medium size one. Lack of smoke is a good thing, it means you've got full combustion going on in the firebox. Less creosote builds up that way. I only get smoke on first start, most all stoves do. I've managed to get anywhere from 6-12 hr. burn times from mine, this...

    Too much wood?

All I know is there is a lot of fly by the dashboard type wood dealers in some area's that don't really know what a real cord is. Craiglist firewood sellers come to mind. Any self respecting woodcutter knows what he is selling and has repeat business from word of mouth and that is far...
