nope, that would be the people that say they have problems with them.............

Allright Mr Murph....:)

here's some personal experience :

- they won't seat with a slight overfill. Overfilling is easy, especially with oil and low visibility. This causes a waist of time in each case.

- any system that can give you a false feeling of security should not be allowed on a power tool. They can seem to hold untill they fall out sometimes, so they are not belgian proof... I've spilled an oil and fuel tank already on my pants once, so I am very carefull now with these things. I don't feel comfortable with fuel on my clothes..

- they are little plastic things that look not very sturdy, and I know they are being replaced.

I think the safety issue is a stretch too far for me.

That's the main complaint I here...won't stay in.

One of the best inventions ever added to a chainsaw, just like the side chain tensioner, simple things that make life a little easier. Never have to track down a screwdriver to get it to come loose and don't have to strain your nuts off to get the cap loose either.

Overally I prefer them, but I've spilled gas on my leg twice now because of them. On my 361, I can get the cap to start and lock into place in two different positions (about 180 degrees apart of course). One position is good, the other one makes me look like I just wet my pants and reek of gasoline. I've just learned to watch extra closely that the little flip-up catch is in the right place, and not just go by "feel" alone.
For some reason, I've never had this problem with the oil cap on the saw.

The only drawback to the old-style caps that I've found is that they can get pretty hard to unscrew on an older saw. But if I wasn't so cheap, and I would replace the O-ring on the cap, I probably wouldn't have that problem.

Roland,

Wait 'til THE CHAMP sees this post, you're gonna be toast. Like they say, "You make something Belgian proof, and they build a better Belgian".

Best o' luck,

ole joat

I don't like them. I have also spilled gas on myself, plus the oil cap leaks no matter what I do.:mad:

I don't hate them but, If i screw something on and snug it with the scrench I don't have to worry about it. Iv had a few problems with the flippy crap's but not terrible.

I like them by now, and voted yes - but the alternative statement also has some merit.........

I made at least one mistake, before they became "friends".....:greenchainsaw:
