6401 for 499.95
7900 for 689.95

And a piston and cylinder kit for a 7900 costs what?

I think some higher power is wanting me to have one of these saws.

I am going to check the local dolmar dealer this weekend and if they are lame I think bailys may be selling me a 6401 the next chance I get.

Not sure about the p/c kit ????? BUT,,,,,

You Go Boy!!!!!!!

but it seems like to me if you nbuy the 6401 for 500....and gonna spend the cash for a P/C why not spend it up front and get the 7900 and b e done with it????

HELLO!!!!!!!

They are both made in germany....I would buy the 6401 and a 7900 piston and cylinder and then ebay the brand new unused 6401 piston and cylinder and you will have one very inexpensive 7900 in a blue skirt :)

How do you figure? the piston and cylinder is like 190 and thats how much more the 7900 is isnt it? The piston and cylinder would bring 125 on ebay easily...so 499 + 190 = 690-125=565....565 for a 7900 is a great deal...

I forgot also the 7900 is more then likely powerhead only and the makita comes with a 20" bar...Get the blue one :)

125.00 for a p/c. Not no more.
Theres is going to be a but load of 6401 used p/c on ebay now.

he will still get it....Not everyone knows you can throw a 7900 cylinder on a 6401....Even if he only gets 100 its still way cheaper to go the makita route...Pretty decent bar and chain on it also...

Do you really think there will be a large market for the 6400 P&Cs - not likely imo, as most that need one probably will want to upgrade.........:dizzy:

Less hazzle to buy the saw as you want it, also.

if they would have had them when i bought my 7900 i woulda went that route...Bar and chain is another 40-70 you might as well tack onto the 7900..

No I don't think there will be an over run.
Not everybody knows this.
I was just Joking.

Now if you include your time in this great savings. R&R P/C, Plus Selling other P/C what would have into it.
