I got the saw cleaned up and back together today, only to find out I have no spark with either ignition. As mentioned, the working ignition that was on the saw was burnt. Please let me know if you have a good working ignition for this saw! I have a lot of time in this lousy thing. Tank halves resealed, cylinder removed and decarboned, new fuel lines, carb gone through........ I'd hate for it to be all in vain.

I need the air box cover as well.

Here's the burnt ignition I need. The one that was on the parts saw will give me a little shock but not enough to spark the plug.

Brad you come up with some tough saw tales; if you did not include pictures I'd have trouble believing them.

I found a list of manufaturers for Sears a few months back. I have a 917.350720 saw and according to the list 917 codes were made by Roper. Also, 358 codes were Poulan.

I get mine from:

http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/index.php?cPath=21_25

or

http://georgia-arms.com/10mm-1.aspx

These companies sell the "real" 10mm ammo. Not the watered-down sissy loads. And yes, it's a GREAT cartridge with energy levels falling somewhere in between a .357 and a .41 Mag

Between the .357 and .41 mags? That sounds like sum serious ballistics. :) I would prefer it in a revolver, I think. I don't suppose the case length is sufficient for it to be deer legal....

Ewwwww, the plastic! What kind of fool shoots a plastic gun?!

I'll say this much for the Rastafarian DEA agent, either he was in shock or he displayed incredible peace of mind after sticking a .40S&W bullet through his own foot. Hobbling around, bleeding on the floor, and still calmly lecturing the kiddies on how dangerous guns are in the wrong hands.

There was a courthouse hallway video of a white federal marshal this summer. He nicked his ass as he holstered his pistol, threw the loaded pistol down in the hallway in front of a bunch of prisoners, and ran away screaming. I thought he looked a lot less professional than the DEA agent above. The bad part there was after the bullet passed through the edge of his butt cheek, it destroyed a foot on the deputy standing behind him and now the deputy is likely crippled for life.

So what other saws does this Roper share bar mounts with? AndreTheGiant has an electronic ignition on the way to me so all I should have left is to source a bar. That was the lest of my worries until I got it running. This thing has been in my garage WAY to long. I'll be glad to return it to my bro. I'm sure he's keeping his tailgate up these days:clap:

I just have to put in my .02 worth !!!!! GUNS DON'T KILL !!!!STUPID PEOPLE LIKE THAT "HIGHLY TRAINED" INDIVIDUAL DO!! My "Peace maker of choice is a S&W 25 with speer 325 loaded hot!! When will the owner of the car that had the unfortunate encounter with the saw get his lawyer involed?? And I might as well throw this one out there "How can You tell the difference between a dead SNAKE in the road and a dead LAWYER? :jawdrop: :jawdrop: SKID MARKS IN FRONT OF THE SNAKE!!
