hey hillbilly22,
haven`t seen you in a whille
how`s that 372 XPW from Madsens ?
I was wondering how it compares to the 576XP I intend to purchase sometimes later.

Whats up count! I love it. Its an xpw, its a fantastic saw. Its gettin ready to be ported by Eric Copsey. I think they are really two different saws. I believe the xpw is lighter but ive also heard that the 576 is the smoothest of all the xp saws. The xpw, is a non-stratified saw while the 576 is a stratified saw. power wise I think they are really close. Ive heard the 576 is excellent for bucking. The 372xpw, IMO is factory hot rod. Hope that helps. I think youve made a great choice also.

it does.
do you think the XPW will be available next year too?
I may not even need a bigger saw.
I may take the challenge to upgrade the 346XP at some point; don`t know yet;
But moneywise if I hit greener pastures, I will get one just because.
take care.

Daniel

also, what porting is exactly ? I`m troubling to grasp the notion;
moding means that you modify the muffler to allow exhaust leave quicker. is it not so ?

i hadnt seen any more news on it other than the press release earlier this month. that stated it was gonna be the 560 xp & 562 xp. the 562 xp is supposed to have a larger bar mount and airfilter than the 560 xp.

Husqvarna 562xp news

I found the following information on utube from Sept 2011. Maybe of interest to potential buyers:

Here I am testing the new Husqvarna 562XP chainsaw on a show in Arnhem (Netherlands). This saw is coming out in oktober 2011, the local stores are already ordering them. The last 357XP's have been sold (sad about that, still nice saws) and this will be the replacement.

They stiil have X-Torq and Autotune, but the technician from Husqvarna told me the Revboost function has been cancelled, i don't know why though! Also coming out are a new climbing saw (T540XP) and the 560XP (same machine as the 562 but lighter bar connection, smaller filter and a standard .325" pitch instead of a 3/8" config), 550XP (replacement for the 346XP) and the 555 (for non-pro users).

28-09-2011 update: Just heard that the new climbing saw T540XP will be delayed due to problems with the Autotune feature. It seems the carb has problems with new fuels from Germany, which are way higher in octane percentage. Also some bad fuels out of some Russian area's seem to cause carb trouble. From what i have been told the launch will be in januari 2012!

This new info also makes me wonder how the Autotune feature on other saws, like for instance the new 562XP, but also the older 576XP handles these particular fuels?

Also, someone asked about the 562 ............. Is the oiler made out of plastic like the one on the 555? and the answer was yes

Good video! I bet the youtube OSHA types are freaking out because he isn't wearing chaps, hard hat, full face shield and isn't fully encased in ballistic proof kevlar!

nice video; really.
awesome saw too; definitely would love to have one if money were no issue;
also would I sound cocky if I were to say that I did the job with my 346 ? and maybe I have had just as much fun ? with maybe less arm fatigue (ok, maybe I have used a bit more fuel)? or would I be wrong ?
I reckon thou that it may be the best choice ever for the one saw plan...

A 346xp would have done nicely for that cutting. :smile2:

Absolutely not Count! IMO, you have one of the best saws ever made. the 346xp is all that and then some IMO. Be proud of your saw. Its certainly one to be proud of! Good to see ya back on the mountain BTW.......:cheers:

Except everytime you use a 562xp, a portion of the energy goes to curing cancer.

The 346xp just makes smog that causes cancer.
