MS461 or 500i ??

Thay 066 is mint. Get it! No strato, limited coil, spring av, flippy caps, parts are plentiful. If the piston is good. With that said, double check it’s not like the de-tuned 660’s you have out there. A hand saw would be faster

What the heck? No springs in an 066 or 660's av, no flippy caps, and so far all the ones I've come across have unlimited coils. Also, I beg to differ on the "hand saw would be faster" bit. My stock 660 with a little exhaust work to fix a plating chip and a foam filter feels neck and neck with my ported 390, and at least as good as the 066 red light I've run. While the light exhaust work and filter might help it a bit, I doubt they do a whole lot to improve it's performance.

I think you mis read my post, it should have read like this:

No spring av, no flippy caps, no limited coils.

The 660’s in the states are not the same as they are in other parts of the world. Detuned to meet epa. Different port timing, restricted muffler, larger base gasket, no dual (triple port) muffler, no high output oiler and very likely different carburettors. Re the hand saw comment, yes it’s just silliness. They’re decent, but I’d take a 661 even m/tronic over a USA 660 (or 066 if they have the same restrictions)

Found a good deal an a really clean MS461, and a also good deal on a 500i. Not sure which one I should get. I have a 461, but it's torn apart in a box (that's the way I got it), and I don't really feel like rebuilding it. I like the 500i, but I don't really care for the electronics on it. For the extra 2.7cc's I can't really see the benefit. Which is making me lean towards the 461. What do you guys think, and recommend? Thanks

The 461 offers that classic hands-on experience, but the 500i's extra power might come in handy. If you're leaning towards the 461, trust your gut.

That's why I asked if the seller has anymore pics of the saw? seems suss saw looks brand new it's not hard for someone to put a few OEM decals and 066 tag on a fake chinese ms660 call it a 066 and catch some sucker.
