OP stated Igor ran the saw wide open for 15 seconds, on a new saw that is normally set lean from the factory to meet air standards. I don't think it's all that much different. But like I said, to each their own.

I have not found Stihls saws to be set factory lean. Echo on the other hand....

Any saw that can’t take 15 sec at WOT, no load, is not worth owing. Seriously, it’s just a chainsaw. They are pretty tough. It will be OK.
