It takes a teacherman to teach Mr Hall that his little vid is no good....in real life things are a bit different indeed. Now the procedure is my little vid will work all the time in all circumstances...:givebeer:

So true brother Belgian. In real life I would have had my flippy off and back on while your still screwing around with that screwy cap,LOLOLOL

I will say it in good ole plain English, flippy caps suck.<a href="http://www.sweetim.com/s.asp?im=gen&lpver=3&ref=11" target="_blank"><img src="http://content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/0002020F.gif" border="0" title="Click to get more." ></a>

Yes, that could be appropiate.....from the Yankee perspective!

To be fair, I cross-threaded a screw gas cap on my MS-170 last year.

So that's it, it is a yankee thing, like the yankee screw driver no wonder I don't like them flippy caps lmfao. I don't crossthread though learned how to prevent that on fine tread hydraulic fittings!<a href="http://www.sweetim.com/s.asp?im=gen&lpver=3&ref=11" target="_blank"><img src="http://content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/000203FC.gif" border="0" title="Click to get more." ></a>

Curse that German Designer of flippy caps!:censored:What was management thinking when they approved it?????? They can't even blame the EPA for that mistake.:chainsaw::chainsaw::chainsaw::chainsaw::chainsaw::chainsaw:

Right O just dunk saw in parts washer before re moving caps to prevent dirt from funneling into the hole from hell right?

Hey Rope, I was sititng here reading a piece on the OPEI site. Here's something interesting, Stihl USA is giving out Christmas bonuses this year. Now aint that something. Gotta love those flippy caps,:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

Yep, Old Roy tells it like it is when owing a stihl. Most folks figure it out with in the first week of but stubborn Yankees almost never learn. We also would never admit to owing a MS170 but we are open minded. I am sure that saw would make a great wheel chock. Take care.

Uhhhhhhhhhh Cent did you see any gas or oil going in the other cap that was video'ed, no you did not. Thank you,LOLOLOL

T-boy, your left hook just don’t have what it used to. You obviously have gotten yourself all worn out selling stihl products to happy homeowner for the holidays. You might consider taking a couple of days off and resting up a bit. In your down time, practice up with them flippy caps. Remember, to put fuel in a saw it needs to be on its side (horizontal) not on its belly (vertical). If you get confused see the original video. It shows the correct position for refueling a saw. Cheers!

I've got saws with both and like both types. Of course, I must admit with red face that it took me one time and about a second to take the flippy off the first time and successfully put it back in place in another second and that is completely ridiculous to have to spend all that time and effort. I'll never buy another Stihl until they come up with a saw that has and needs no caps at all.

I understand that Stihl's German engineers have made great headway towards perfecting perpetual motion technology. This will avoid the matter of refueling altogether. I think a gyroscope is involved, so it'll be EPA friendly too. :)

It would be nice if they gave us a choice, I'd sure like a 260pro and 460 with normal caps.
