Marko, Edisto (a fellow Canuck) is the undisputed King of Chops for AS.

Why do I keep giving such a nice guy such a hard time?

I feel kind of bad recycling Vince too...but it seemed like a good cause.

What? In 2 cycle systems the oil is in the gas. Improves the lubrication of all internal engine parts that are steel against steel.

If anyone cares, there are testimonials from professional racing teams on the ER website.

Thanks

Doohood,

Sorry. It's an old scam that gave late night TV infomercials a bad name.

The stuff does NOTHING good oil isn't already doing adequately.

Stay safe!

Holy crap, I'm glad I found you guys...I need some help.

I was up on the front bumper of my Dodge Ramcharger, adjusting the cow magnets on my 318's 2 bbl carb when my knee bumped one of my deer whistles, knocking it out of adjustment.

I don't want to drive at night until I get them re-aligned, but I can not find my instructions.

I have the excalibur IIV whistles (chrome plated of course). If anyone has calibration specs for them, please do post. The deer are running crazy up here and I have a seminar to get to....

This is a product review for your benefit. Please tell us about good products you use and would recommend too!

Hi guys, been using a steel-on-steel friction reducing product for over 15 years. Learned about it from a truck driver. Called Energy Release. See: http://www.energyrelease.com Also at least one regular seller offers it on ebay full time.

Ya know...some of these "oil additives" and things you might try...well you put them in and then stand around scratching your butt wondering if it's doing anything.

The results with ER are obvious and amazing. Really does significantly reduce friction in any hard working steel on steel application. That's engines, tranny's, power steering, any hydraulic system, gears, chains, bearings. Mix small amount in all 2 cycle fuels.

In a vehicle with a full gauge package, you'll typically see your oil pressure go up 5 lbs and your operating temperature (water coolant) go down 5-10 degrees. Vibrations smooth out or disappear altogether. Nothing is going to do all this unless it is really reducing friction. Drive easy? Get better gas millage. Drive hard? Get more performance. Will make parts last much longer in all circumstances. Removes sludge from older engines and then keeps oil cleaner longer.

I use in everything I own. Every possible application to vehicles. In all small engine oil and 2 cycle fuels.

I've used in two different chainsaws (fuel & bar oil) Will make you think you have increased engine/cutting power by 25%. Chain stays sharp 3 times longer. You just cannot help but notice the difference.

I worked one time managing a warehouse with frequent forklift use. Was typical sit down propane lift. When you cranked the lift up first thing in the morning it would shake and vibrate you right out of the seat until it warmed up. So seeing as I used the thing all day, I donated some ER to the work effort and put in the engine oil and the hydraulic fluid. The cold start-up vibration was reduced about 95%....unbelievable!

And a little goes along way. Engines only use 1oz. per quart of oil. Fuel mixtures is very small amount.

Unless you can buy an even larger quantity, the best value is 1 gallon bottles. Would last a homeowner in all equipment several years. Guy on ebay is selling gallons for $110 which is a good buy as the original retail gallon price is/was $180

Not a teflon product. Comes in various sizes of liquid from 5oz. bottles all the way up to 55 gal. drums. Is clear and has consistency of honey. Also comes premixed in grease cartridges and in spray cans for direct application to chains ect...

Can you tell I like this stuff?

Read info on website and check it out. Promise you'll swear by it for lifetime if you try it!

Ay, i wonder if Stoner's been using that stuff in his Ducati Desmosedici. :monkey:

I sometimes wonder how some of these products override the thermostat setting and lower the coolant temp? Maybe removed or faulty?

Anyway;
so when I'm driving on the highway in the left lane, and there's another guy driving in the far right lane, we both want to go to the centre lane, who has the right of way? Also, did you all know racoons are NOT rodents?

No, No I didn't!

Well then, this thread had a purpose. I learned what a Wombat looks like, shared my vast racoon knowledge, found a potential weight loss aid, got to see another Edisto photo chop, saw Brad's racoon video, voiced my infatuation with Rachel Ray, saw a machinist play piano, learned of HimWills armadilo concerns, asked some provacative traffic questions and became more in touch with my inner pirate!! To name a few:clap::cheers:

Hi all,

What really amazes me about products like this is that people buy into it even when the claims are so far fetched and the terminology they use is unconventional to the point of sounding made-up. I see it all the time in the aquarium industry. One goofy product claims to "change the alignment of the water molecules". Huh? :dizzy:

What is even more amazing is that no one questions the fact that if these products are so good, why hasn't the company been bought by one of the giant multi-billion dollar oil companies, or better yet, why hasn't their army of research chemists produced a competing product? Why don't all of the major car, engine, OPE, etc. manufacturers recommend the product? The answer is simple: It either doesn't work, or it has serious disadvantages.

No doubt the company would explain it away with nonsense about big oil company conspiracies or how they had too much integrity to sell out.

As a seasoned mechanic, i seen hundreds of peddlers trying to make an easy buck, i cut no slack for that.

Snake -Oil is just that, huge promises huge buy in's and people fall for it.

No one here is trying to change history, it's still the same, best movie line I ever seen is when crossing the river, Josey Wales asked the Snake Oil salesman if his elixir removed spots?

One of my favorite movies also!

fwtw I am a "seasoned" mechanic also lol lord I apologuise and by that I mean I have fed my family succesfully (and still am in my own shop) in a crappy career field with some crappy pay working on crap for crappy people I know crap when I see it ER is not crap or snake oil.

You call ER snake oil thats your perogative free country (for now) but its simply an additive thats it the same EXACT thing that makes one oil better than another in one way or another is ADDITIVES period all oils have them and they are in there to do certain things and metal conditioners are an important part of ALL oils. Base oil is nothing but thin smelly petroleum it wont lube anything its the additives and further refining that makes oil oil.

edit: Oh the history part well he was using Rotella so it wouldnt have changed anything.

You should be more embarrased to have someone so poorly represent a product you evidently believe in. I'm not one to just attack someone, especially a newbie. But I can smell snake oil a mile away and I was two miles away when I smelled this stuff. I'm sure the OP is a great guy, he just barked up the wrong tree.

You are correct and I agree you dont attack people and that looks good for you and others that keep the tone down. I also try not to put anyone down either especially newbs but I will stick up for anything or anyone I BELIEVE is in the right case in point.

Here is what I did wrong first I dont agree with everything he said fact quite a bit of it is misrepresented imo and frankly I am embarrased by that and it didnt help ER either.

Also am embarrased by the the fact I jumped into this thread on the first post without reading the whole thing we all have done that it can backfire.

It was a forest fire already when I was trying to stomp out the match.

I honestly believe also that if it had accurately portrayed maybe some of you would have been interested in trying it but I dont really know or care. I know I wouldnt have ever promoted a product like this on a public forum in the first place but thats me.

Fact is I rarely even mention it in my shop I have very little to show for it but a tube of ER grease and a retail bottle sitting on top of my front office computer, I keep a 5 gal can of it and refill bottles for people and add at oil changes for customers.

People seek me out like the engine builder someone told him and he came to me I didnt make any claim only told him I use it and it wouldnt hurt anything and apparently his problem went away thats that he is now using it in all his engines and thats a fact. Oreileys sends people also they dont carry it any more.

O'reileys regional outside sales guy asked me several years ago why I dont have catastrofic a/c compressor failures like most shops do (I have never had one blow up had a few leaks warranteed but none blow up) the only thing I do different besides read the DIRECTIONS is add 2 oz ER, he asked me for a sample which I gladly gave him. Well you can talk to 4 Seasons about that conversation and their test results ets and they will tell you off the record that ER is working and they have their own product that they send with ALL new and reman compressors its probably the same type compounds I only guess there but thats all true.

Now its just beat into the ground and thats too bad because if anyone ever saw this stuff on an oil test brake machine (ShoerFast called it a bearing test machine) they would be amazed whether they thought it was a parlor trick or not it is remarkable and it works in A/C and anything that doesnt rely on metal to metal contact like a posi dif END OF SALES SPIEL. :)

I lost credibillity over the topic I realize that and I will survive it thats life I wont lose any sleep over it. My personal experiences with ER wont change what I will change is I probably will read a thread before getting a mud pie in the face by replying to one next time w/o reading it hahaha. :)
