It's all a matter of perception, I guess. As I read it, Brad was advising a staunch stihl-head to broaden his horizons. All we're talking about here is a few chainsaws. Too bad nobody can buy stock in Stihl, no? :rolleyes:
 
I'd prefer buying stock in Kaercher, but alas they are also one of the last privately owned companies out there.

Brad, I'm not looking to get into an argument with you and I think your post was well intended, but there are a few things I feel I have to say:

1) Yes I do get defensive when others throw barbs at me, and I'm sorry if my responses to them offended you or others.

2) I never said my saw was better than a 562, and I never insulted anyone for choosing a different brand. I think the 362 is just as good, and I continue to think that. Others are entitled to their opinions and if they don't insult me I don't insult them. You will not find one post where I was negative to someone who choose to buy and different saw, in fact I almost always wish them the best of luck.

3) When "others with more experience" than me continue to insist that it is foolish to own a 362 because it it "overweight & bulky" and some of those same individuals own a 261 (one of the heavies 50 cc saws out there) and a 441 (one of the bulkiest 70 cc saws out there), where are the experienced people like you commenting that "you just can't make this stuff up?" (FYI, I think those are both great saws for other reasons).

I may have less experience than some of the pros, but I do know how to think logically.

I will try to keep my posts more civil, but if they are not, please try to consider the reason, there usually will be one.

Heres the difference mike..i own 50 cc saws from 3 different makers..i know what the differences are and i dont ram it down peoples throat..i dont care what you like..or if anyone dislikes what i like..someone can tell me my 2153 blows i really dont care..i use it..they dont..you jam your bullsh!t down peoples throats and its obnoxious..you get way to defensive over a SAW and repeat yourself over and over and over..humble yourself and go try other saws and listen to others with more knowledge than yourself..then form your own opinion
 
1) I have been using various other saws, even went to a GTG.

2) I'm not the one going around insulting other people for what they like. I give my opinion on what I own, and that is what this site is for. If you don't like my posts, don't read them. I don't jam things down peoples throats. If they buy something else I still wish them well, and even often ask them how the saw is doing. I joined this site to learn and to share information. I've even recommended that (the potential buyer) go look at, heft, and if they can use several different saws to see what they like. Not everyone will choose the same saw, we are all different.

3) You claim I'm obsessed with the 362, but can't seem to see that you are obsessed with knocking it. At least, unless someone insults me, I post positive things, not negative.

4) If you would disagree with someone either with the facts, or with your opinion w/o insulting them, I would have more respect for you, but you don't.

This site should be for sharing information, not insults. Let's see if we can both do that going forward.
 
Ok, sorry its taken me so long to get back with my decision, I have been kinda busy with the new job. So I ended up going with the dolmar. Thought I would take a chance on something that I haven't tried yet.

I have some pics and had it in some wood yesterday, still on the first tank. It likes to die when you let off the throttle after the cut. Hope that goes away, or it will go back to the dealer.
 
Nothing wrong with the Efco. They aren't the sexiest, but they run great and are dependable. For firewood cutters, they are perfect.
