Just put an order in for a MS 500i R in 35inch, plan on having 2 bars... Did i make a mistake, i see no one has any 500i's, and no delivery dates would be given... anyone else see pro saws backordered?

Tons available in my area.
I asked a while ago and people said they see these saws on shelves...I've never seen one on the shelf around my area(southern wisconsin) and when I ask dealers they say they can't even get them...at least, that's what they said last year.
I bought my 500i from a friendly member here and it's been fantastic. So I don't have any recent information...but that's the reason I bought one pre-owned.

I don't have a link but read somewhere that most pro saws are on backorder. This was on a stihl memo to dealers. I'd double check with your dealer especially if you gave him any money. Good luck and welcome to AS.
My dealer told me the other day that production has stopped on some chainsaw models due to supplies from Ukraine have stopped coming in to Europe.

Ukraine came up at the shop as well...
That basically what I heard also. Some guys are grabbing up all the hot parts items for the pro saws. Coils etc.
A major sparkplug factory was leveled.......don't know what plugs were made there.

Seriously there are many 500 available in many stores near me. It's funny because it's not at all popular in my area. One store 10 min away has 10 462 and 4 or 5 500

Sorry to deviate from the topic I just got a little excited.
They sell pretty fast around here, my dealer has sold a bunch of them at least 20. He placed the spring order in January, and very little has come in, supply issues are very real.
Absolutely and ported, they're fantastic. Stock, they're just a bit low on power and not snappy. I mean, the squish is .060" from the factory, and the exhaust is very restrictive, among other things porting takes care of. That said, it's an incredibly simple and clean design, very well made. I'd say out of the box, it would run with a 372, but not near as quick to spool up.
Two loggers in Eastern Nebraska that I know have two apiece on back order. They have been waiting three months. Luckily, their 661C M-tronics are still working OK. I repaired one. I told one of them about the Montana supply (post #2) and he thought seriously about driving up there to pick two of them up.
