Ok. I'll grant you that I was blissfully unaware of any social platform called Discord. I still doubt that such a platform is well known enough to be referred to only by that word (sans proper capitalization) and still remain unlikely to have been missed by all but 2% of our readers.

Thank you for that partial clarification. Still... If this old guy not among the select 2% drew mild offense, you might wish to choose your expressions a bit more carefully to avoid offending folk in error. Had you capitalized "Discord", I would have figured it out. That is a proper name, you know.

There are a lot of meanings to "69", and I think his usage there was cleverly phrased disdain for anyone using what might be called euphemistically called "an old timers" computer. If you think I didn't get it right, feel free to tell me all about it.

log lifter to rule them all!

typically I pick up a 20+ft log and buck it at waist high, only downside to this is the bucket taking up a 24" section of log, so at the end you end up with a double round but its easily cut on the ground or re-grab if you have a second person to operate the machine
ive lifted (and carried) logs well over 60 feet long with this, albeit dead, but still did it and moved it!

You're lifting wrong with that machine in the picture.

69 is a reference to "bedroom activities"
The reference really means nothing about "an old timers computer" although it was a clever play on words with with windows 98 mixed worh cringy middle school humor

Cool machine there!

I knew about "69" before you were born. more than two times over, in fact. That is not a new term to the vulgar English lexicon. I'm sure there are no English speaking members of this website not familiar with its common usage.

So popular a concept, in fact, that Wikipedia has a disambiguation page on the topic. Songs and albums have been out for many years on the topic too.

Come pdqdl, These kids know everything and we know nothing! Don’t forget that!

I'd say humanity in general tends to think they are all right all the time. Myself no less than any others. That is why we have arguments and wars. Sometimes the oldsters are less likely to be wrong because they have had so many years to learn better than to start fights about stuff they don't know about.

In Zin's case, I think his advice about "Discord" was mostly accurate and well-intentioned, but not so gracefully expressed for the readership here.

To be 100% honest, ive never seen anyone over about 30 years old reference it, I figured either it was forgotten and some middle schoolers brought it up again, or some kids came up with it, never thought the older generation would have anything to do with it

Gonna wait a very long time for an answer I think, while he finds "proof" im doing it wrong

i"m mentally not 100% there when it comes to holding conversations or wording stuff, rarely do I intend to be as rude as I sound, but thats what happens

just fyi, momma says im "special" (and I took a test that concurs)
Cool machine there!
Thanks!

"rarely do I intend to be as rude as I sound, but thats what happens"

That's a pretty fair statement for most of us when we are trying to express ourselves in "writing" on instantaneous communications, be it forum, text messages or whatever. There is so much inflection lost when messaging on a screen.

Lifting off the side of the house.
well, this machine has a load chart in the side window, over the blade and off the side, its 100% OK to lift off the side, and actually is better for the machine as it tips at a lower load, putting less strain on the swing bearing which is a VERY expensive fix, not to be "that guy" but, they made it spin for a reason, and when im tracking back and forth, im not stopping to turn/damage my tracks and lawn just to lift off the blade end

also interesting that MOST of your digging is done off the side of the machine, you can reach much closer that way and track along as you need to, exception being trenching of course

im doing this wrong too, lifting over the final drives, oh wait it doesnt matter!

also part of the problem for me, in person most people really like me, on the phone they do, over text? nope, about 10% of the people I talk to end up blocking me after a day or never replying back

what have I learned? important stuff is done over the phone or in person but not a text, only time I do work related stuff over text is scheduling and keeping stuff in writing for my and my customers records

I just enacted a rule for the supervisors that work for me, "No text messages over 4 lines in an ongoing discussion." I'm getting tired of teh butthurtedness.

That is such a clear sharp photo. What did you use for a camera. That sky reminds me of the Colorado sky when clear.
