Stihl 441 Going away?

i buy my stihls at Hudson River Tractor Supply in clifton park and they got the full line of saws

I've always got 5 wore out saws to trade in so I never get a discount.

This hardware store has more NOS Stihls then all the dealers here combined

I'm in there a couple times a week and as far as I can tell they've sold a couple small ones out of the batch.

I'll have to button hole my favorite clerk and see if they are moving many.

Ahh the benefits of living in/near civilization.

In town out of dealers (2 Ace) there are only 2 441's. Two of those dealers said they can't get them right now for some reason. 461'S are limited, 660 not even on a shelf.

I was just surprised to hear they couldn't even get one.

I heard the 441 had a production problem, but maybe it is being discontinued.

While not avial, dealers are "authorized" to give you a break on the 461 to make the price comparable to a 441.

I believe 461 R models are a "regional" thing, available in some places, but not in others.

It will be interesting to see if a "new saw" appears soon. Would not be surprised if something is in the works. 70 cc saws are a "mainstay", and a lot of people did not like the bulk of the 441.

I usually just call Spike, TK or Tlandrum and they have what I need. Oh, what am I thinking they are Husky dealers.
