I got my 028 WB for cutting a guy a load of wood. It was not very much wood either, a 5x8 trailer full. The saw runs and looks good just ended up having to put an oil gear on it.

Mac

I did that too, got a mit 272xp for about a cord and a half. here is a pic of it

So far I got the Jred M361 out of the garbage, and I got the MS280 for 200.
After reading another post, I may get a whole pack of saws all for sexual favors to the attractive wife.

50 bucks for the 084 i think 30 for the 044. this kinda kickstarted my cad right here. both these saws are now gone but both became very good runners and have been replaced by a 440 and 066

I'd have to say the best deal I've gotten on a saw was my Homelite 750 I got off of CL about six to eight weeks ago or so. I paid $100.00 plus shipping. Rebuilt the carb, new boot, spark plug, and a major cleaning. Runs and cuts like a dream. Oh, and I also added two NOS dogs to it as well. Best, Max.

GRRRR....I actually bet you to that 750 by emailing him almost immediately after it was posted stating I would take them, but the guy decided to skip me over and sell it to you. I knew it had to have been a member here too.:dizzy: That left a bad taste in my mouth.

Best deals, hmm, probably the like new Mac double eagle 80 and mac 610 for free from my stihl dealer. Someone never came and picked them up after being serviced. I ended up selling both after playing around with them, put over 600 bucks in my wallet.

Speaking of 064/066 deals. I snagged 2 parts 064s, a 029 super, 15 or so chains and 3 extra bars for 200 bucks off a local AS member. I sold the 029 for a little over 200 to make my money back and kept the rest of it, which ended up being my 064 and my 064 with 066BB currently in my sig.

I had a guy deliver a 066 to my house from over an hour away for 250. Put 20 bucks in it and sold it to a guy at work for cheap. He uses it almost everyday.

Thats tough
Ill list a few if thats okay... most recently

My friend who is a logger was working with another logger. This logger owed my friend $50.00. The logger said he would give his saw to my friend for the $50.00. My friend said he would sell me the saw for $50.00 to get his money back. The saw was a good running Stihl 064.

Got a running 090 for $20 at a yard sale last year that only needed some small parts and a tuneup. Also got a complete & running 08s at a pawnshop for $50 last winter, and a 181SE that only needed a fuel line for $80 the year before.
