If they are smart, they will introduce one!

Philbert
If they were smart they would have introduced before Stihl did... but it won't change anything. And to be honest I doubt that they really will. In a country were liability is such a concern, why risk it for a few saw freaks... If it takes a few seconds longer in the cut, who cares compared to what a meeting with some lawyers cost and we are not even thinking about some time with a judge! These sales from stihl for the ps3 are a snail's fart compared to what these companies make on other products.

Both Oregon and Carlton sell non-safety lo pro chain, it is just not full chisel. Full chisel vs semi chisel does not really affect safety risk.

They could even sell it with the bumper drive link (like the 91PX chain: http://www.oregonproducts.com/pdfs/91PX_A107249-AA low-res.pdf) which is not as obtrusive as the large, tie strap bumper links.

Along with 91VX (http://www.oregonproducts.com/pdf/chain/91VX_F&B.pdf) they could sell it only through dealers in 100 foot rolls, to bypass most homeowner type users, and keep a larger portion of arborists/landscaper/professional users happy.

If my last name was 'Blount' . . . .

Honestly, I wouldn't want it anyway. I use lo pro for the vast majority of my firewood cutting and general purpose trimming, and semi chisel is far better suited to the conditions and the wood I cut. I also find that sharp semi chisel and chamfer chisel is quite fast, especially compared to full kerf 3/8 chain.

I use almost all semi-chisel chain. But some guys like the full chisel stuff, and it might make a difference up in a tree. Only hear positive comments on the STIHL PS chain. Would not be hard for Oregon to produce it as a competitive product.

Hmmm... I have a 100' reel of 3/8" pitch semi-chisel that needs to be put into service. Philbert has just convinced me to do that. I have also heard that semi-chisel chain can noodle cut better than full chisel can. Not sure if this is true. Any opinions on this?
