I don’t know how much I suck for this, but I just picked up both of these saws and the brand-new bucket of joint compound for $20. I met with the guy for the Redmax and he gave me the compound and the Mac for free. The G3800AVS is my first Redmax. Both saws seem to have great compression, but I haven’t dove in any further than that yet.

got the mcculloch pm610 for $100. Literally brand new. On the way, saw the husky 55 pop up for $100. By the time i got a hold of him, he dropped the price to $50. Original owner and stressed it needed a serious tuneup. New fuel line and carb clean/tune and it’s a ripper too. Came with a bunch of screnches, files and a case. Finally, I restored this 045 super for my coworker a while back and he gave it to me for free cause he bought an 066 and wont ever use the 045. Oooooooookay!

The red saw, looks a lot like my Shindaiwa 575. (I think Echo is also involved with Shindaiwa), My point, is that I have found my saw to be an excellent saw for its size. It is my goto saw for smaller wood. I hope you have a runner, and you get a chance to put it through its paces.

You have met the standard....and then some if they run.
That's a 10.50 bucket of compound so you paid 4 dollars and 75 cents per saw. Good job!

I dig it. I think I’ll be keeping the Redmax and adding it to my collection. Thank you. It WILL be a runner, one way or the other. 😁

Thanks! That’s the way I looked at it too. I figured $20 for the Redmax was a deal. Then I got surprised. I’ll dig into them another day and see if they run. I’ll make them if they don’t run willingly.

Definitely a suck situation! Just one question? I always need mud buckets, but never need mud. If you dont need it, what do you do with the mud?

Does it get any better than free? An older friend of mine is giving up gas for battery saws and decided that this saw should be mine:

Stihl 020 AVP Professional. My friend recently rebuilt the carburetor, but there are still a few more minor issues to deal with. I'll post more as I go. Thanks for watching! O

Is this a 5-49? Yes, I got the bar and bar-nose handle, but I had the bar stowed away before I remembered to take pictures. With the bar installed, the overall length is right at 7 feet! The model number on the ID plate is blank, but the serial number area starts with "549". Can anyone tell me for sure what model it is? Thanks, O.

Actually 1948 first chainsaw McColloch made, history from McC site. It was a long time ago, if my memory serves me right. I drove a go kart my friend had in the mid 60's that had this model of engine. His dad built a lot of go karts for his boys. They had racing karts for the older boys. I never drove any but I watched them race in El Paso They were FAST and McColloch powered, one with synced engines on each wheel. Sorry, kinda off subject. It just dredged up old youthful memories. Just Sharing.

Super XL from 1983, that I can determine from the serial number. The Super EZ Automatic I can't date from the s/n, and the XL can't possibly be from 1978 as the s/n suggests, can it? Any dating help would be appreciated. So many project saws, so little time! Thanks for watching! O

Great find. I have an XL1 that I still use for limbing and cleaning up when I am only dealing with small trees. There's a little bit of vibration, but I don't use the saw enough for that to bother me.

It's been over a week or so, but I got these for free from various people. 455 has a bad top end, but the others fire up and run a bit on a prime. Sears has lived on a guy's shed wall since the mid 70's, 455 was just abused, and the XL was found by a neighbor at a dump and regifted to me.

My nephew is visiting and wanted to tear a engine apart, so daughter put an ad in FB for a dead engine. So what do we get, dead chinese kids dirt bike, we tore it apart, been in a flood fubar.
A Jred 52, probably parts saw, a champion gen set that fires
on a quirt and lites up a light.
Gonna go over the carb today.
All free.

Found these local today. An old fellow had them and he was put in a home so they were selling his stuff off.

I think I did ok. This is Canada, so Canadian dollars.

Everything seems to be there. Didn't try to run them yet.

Can any of you tell me if I did well? What they're worth? Issues, etc.

Partner P70, wanted $50, got it for $20.

Jonsred 2149 Turbo, wanted $350, paid $200.

Stihl 044, wanted $250, paid $200.

So $420 for all 3.
