Dear, Redneck Chainsaw Repair, I would interested in the husqvarna 353 OP , after you trick it out. Thanks Buck in n.c.
That was a long time ago for me. 353 and 346xpG after it long been sold.

You got to catch me when I get them. Usually dont last long as I price fair. Not a over pricing stuff like some do.

$100 running Stihl 041 from a friend. I didn't steal it, but I think my friend gave me a good deal. He bought it new in the '70s. He's 73 and switched to electric. Here it is as I got it:View attachment 1102254

And after I removed my friend's foam-and-duct-tape anti-vib mods and gave it a quick cleaning:

It runs, idles, and cuts, but I'll likely grab my 036 for daily use or my 009 for small jobs. Thanks for watching! O
Love the old 041 chainsaws. One of my favorite saws I like collecting

I have been working with the seller for 2-3 weeks on the logistics. Came from Tahoe, but wasn't worth taking time off for to go get + gas/wear-tear.

Got the shipping sorted out, and I'm now proudly in the club:

The 150' roll of rope new would cost as much or more than what the asking price + shipping + the extra $$ I gave the seller for his time and hassle. Let alone the cost of the griphoist itself.

I don't celebrate Christmas, but it sure feels like it today.

3300lb capacity grihpoist
40 or 50' roll of wire
150' roll with reel
Cheater-bar TBD

Was it a you-suck price? Maybe not, but for $1075 to my door, in good working order, I'm beyond thrilled.

One of my highly coveted items, now marked off the list (still looking for a smaller one for the right price.)

064 listed as 056,, guy had a 2100 in the shed. PO said both died.
064 had low comp 110,, pulled muff looked good,, noticed jug was loose, one broke bolt 3 loose.
Needs a muff comp now 180,, waiting for fuel line..
2100 fired with a prime seems good 145comp,, needs manual oiler fixed20230808_140231.jpg20230808_140247.jpg

Those early 064s are great saws. Nice find!

Scored a free 2002 Stihl 066 off an older gentleman recently. He said his employee smoked the topend, I’m guessing the straight gas and the chain on backwards did it in. Needs a topend, exhaust, and a new rim but it should make a good milling and stumping saw once it’s fixed

You really suck, lol
I have a muffler for it but not the dual port front, unfortunately.

Another pair to add to the collection or restore and sell...we'll see. Both strong runners, 390 recently rebuilt, 372 needs a muffler and maybe a top cover.

I was recently presented with a hoosky 240 that crapped out when the throttle is pinned.. I started sniffing for leaks..... Wound up mostly dismantling it in the search.. Didn't find a leak,, in the primer bulb, or the carb hoses. It would idle.. So I cleaned it with aerosol carb cleaner and slowly started to assemble it.. When it was done, pulled it over and it ran like scared whore. A bit of tuning and it seems fine... I guess I suck for not being able to say " that's the problem". Same plug, same everything,, but it runs good now.. Was it just crud ??
